Welcome! Before opening Thomas Waters - State Farm Agency, I was a successful real estate agent and learned selling would become my life’s work. I was born in Cullman, AL and raised in Mountain Brook, AL. I attended Birmingham Southern and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.

I started my agency in 1991 with the dream of making my business the most outstanding office it could be. With nine full time professionals, we are the largest agency in Homewood and serve over 3,000 families. Recently, our team was recognized in Homewood as the Top Insurance Agent and the Top Insurance Agency, an honor we continue to earn and receive.

Over the years, my mission has become: "To be there for people at life’s toughest moments... and sometimes it’s insurance." The difference we make is lived out in our service to our customers, as well as the community. Since 2014, I have felt a calling to serve the local homeless community. With the help of every customer, we have served over 7,000 meals to the homeless at Changed Lives Center. We purchase the food, cook and serve the meals once a month.

Another passion I have pursued is cycling. I love riding my bike, although my knees are not cooperating as they did in the past. This year we will be sponsoring the Thomas Waters Cycling Team to ride the MS Tour de Beach, where we will be raising money for Multiple Sclerosis. Since 2017, my team has collectively raised over $50,000 for Multiple Sclerosis research to help people with MS live their life better. This is a theme that resonates with me in every aspect of my life and leads me to serve the community with jazz events that connect us all together with the joy of music. Over the years, we have sponsored multiple "Jazz in the Park" events and various musical concerts and programs to bring our community together for the common good!

The success of the agency has given me the opportunity to be the Title Sponsor of the "Homewood-Mountain Brook Kiwanis Pancake Day" serving over 700 breakfasts to the community yearly, while supporting the cause of improving the reading of local children.
